  Funny thing; markets kind of just spontaneously happen, so long as people want to exchange one thing for another. I mean, evidence of trade has been found in some caveman sites. Some important innovations in mathematics are economic in origin. Zero was invented by in India by merchants, along with negative numbers, in order to track assets and debt.
