Some of my ancestors were Slavs, the original slaves:

late 13c., “person who is the property of another,” from O.Fr. esclave (13c.), from M.L. Sclavus “slave” (cf. It. schiavo, Fr. esclave, Sp. esclavo), originally “Slav” (see Slav), so called because of the many Slavs sold into slavery by conquering peoples.
My other ancestors were Jews, the original victims. So please don’t play ancestral victim with me. Not because I’ll win, but because it is an extremely stupid game.

We cannot do anything about our ancestors. What’s important is how we treat each other now.
That’s where the problems come in. Many of the descendants still act like they own the plantations.
