Locked Up Technology

This comic was inspired by Sony, but they’re not exceptional. It’s also my first animated GIF Mimi & Eunice. Gear animation modified from Wikimedia Commons.

Haiku:
This is obvious.
Locking up our creations
Won’t make them better.

Ancestry is Destiny

Some of my ancestors were Slavs, the original slaves:

slave (n.) Look up slave at Dictionary.com late 13c., “person who is the property of another,” from O.Fr. esclave (13c.), from M.L. Sclavus “slave” (cf. It. schiavo, Fr. esclave, Sp. esclavo), originally “Slav” (see Slav), so called because of the many Slavs sold into slavery by conquering peoples.

My other ancestors were Jews, the original victims.  So please don’t play ancestral victim with me. Not because I’ll win, but because it is an extremely stupid game.

Haiku:
Ancestral victims?
Your ancestral oppressors
Are just as dead now.

Alternate Haiku:
Ancestral victims
Yet we all are descended
from the survivors

Copyright Reform

This one’s going into the book.

Update: I’m going to try to write a haiku for every Mimi & Eunice comic this week. Today’s:

Real artists don’t wait
For lawyers and officials
To give permission.
